I never set out to be a finance guy. In fact, I took the most unconventional path you could imagine. I was raised in a small town by a single mom who worked tirelessly after my dad, a military serviceman, passed away. Football was supposed to be my way out, but a career-ending injury forced me to rethink everything. That’s when I stumbled into entrepreneurship, and everything changed.

At 28, I dropped out of chiropractic school with a few friends to build a network marketing company from scratch. We lived together, worked nonstop, and pushed through every setback. That wild idea became LifeVantage, a publicly traded company now worth over $200 million. But success came at a cost. I watched friends lose their families. I lost myself. When the company culture shifted overnight, I sold my shares, walked away, and fell into a season of deep depression. I had no idea who I was without the title or income.

Then something unexpected happened. I knocked on the door of a Utah-based family office, not even knowing what a family office was at the time. The patriarch saw something in me, offered me a $120,000 salary, and said, “If you can raise money, you’ll have a job for life.” I thought he said "fun," not "fund." But I leaned in and figured it out. Over the next few years, I helped structure and raise $20 million, then $50 million, and eventually another $50 million fund. It was a crash course in high-net-worth investing, and I discovered I had a gift most finance professionals didn’t—building trust, telling powerful stories, and bringing the right people to the table.

That skill set eventually led me to Bank of America Private Wealth, where I became a Senior Vice President. In just a few months, I brought in over $100 million in assets—something that usually takes years. But the deeper I got into traditional finance, the more I realized something was off. Too many professionals were playing it safe, just taking orders. And too many visionary founders couldn’t access capital because they didn’t know how to speak the language of investors.

That’s why I started Camelot Venture Partners. My mission is simple: for founders, I help you break through emotional blocks, tell your story the right way, and raise capital with confidence.
